Winter Wonder Grass Festival

February 16th, 2014

The Infamous Stringdusters

Bluegrass, string bands, whiskey, craft beer, Vail Valley: Welcome to Winter Wonder Grass Festival!
For a second year, this boutique outdoor music and beer festival brings together music and beer lovers from near and far.
Greensky Bluegrass, featuring Sam Bush, takes traditional bluegrass and throws in horns and distortion to great effect. Newgrass greats The Infamous Stringdusters continue to put on a spectacular show, and Leftover Salmon represent the best of jam band music.
From 3 – 6 pm two beer halls will host craft brew tastings and a ‘pickin’ stage will feature amazing bluegrass and roots jams between sets on the main stage.
Late Night stages host jam sessions and showcases where “the fans get loose, the bands get tight and the whiskey flows”.

Fringe World Festival

January 26th, 2014

Fringe World highlight

Go down under to find all the world’s fringe.
Fringe World Festival in Perth, Australia has so many events (450 across 60 venues), you’ll want to spend some time curating your own program.
One of the fun tools they’ve provided are event tags that include Date Night, Nanna Night, Late Night and Kid Friendly.
Fringe World is the only fringe festival to own its own Spiegeltent, an architectural jewel built by the Klessen family in 1905. Here you can see Candice McQueen and her comedy-cabaret show replete with 90’s pop culture and fashion.
There are so many other highlights.
Armed with cocktails, charms and stories to share, the Wau Wau Sisters bring uninhibited and irreverent joy to audiences. Chrissie Parrott Arts present ‘I don’t care About Your Dreams’, an exploration of love and loss in a North American landscape, inspired by the works of Raymond Carver. Interactive Theatre International perform ‘Bite-Size Comedies’, a dinner theatre experience that will have you laughing between bites.
What will your tag be?
