One of New Zealand’s top dance companies, Black Grace performs Vaka especially for the festival. Another highlight is Kiwi queen of soul Bella Kalolo, who will grace us with her passionate vocal fireworks.

Snowbombing Festival

Monday, April 1st, 2013

Snowbombing

“Great things are done when men and mountains meet” So said William Blake.
Now men and women and mountains meet for snowboarding , igloo parties, raves and a fancy dress street party. Now that’s a Festival!
The Snowbombing Festival takes place in the idyllic Austrian village of Mayrhofen. Headlining this year’s edition are British rockers Kasabian, who will perform a main stage set as well as an acoustic show at the Arctic Disco igloo. The sibling synth-pop duo Disclosure will help you transition from skiing to dancing, as well as the iconic DJ Carl Cox.
Getting there may be half the fun when you participate in the Snowbombing Road Trip, a non-competitive musically-motivated drive that starts in London, takes you across the Channel to Calais and on to Austria.
Kick-off April and go Snowbombing!

Ross Noble

Go down under and get plenty of laughs.
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival celebrates its 27th year and is now one of the largest comedy festivals in the world. From stand-up to cabaret and street performance, there’s something for every comedy lover.
Some of this year’s highlights include: Stephen K Amos who combines observational humor and audience interaction for a biting and smart show; Ross Noble flies off on tangents with freewheeling and funny results; and, Australia’s hottest female comedian, Kitty Flanagan, pokes fun at herself and everyone else.
We could all use that.
Plus, this year’s Gala supports the humanitarian efforts of Oxfam so go travel and you will receive smiles, belly laughs, and joy.

Treefort Music Fest

Monday, March 18th, 2013

Camper Van Beethoven

Idaho has long been known for its beautiful wilderness areas and those potatoes! The main city, Boise, has a well earned reputation as a great place to raise a family. The Treefort Music Fest is proof positive that it is also a hot spot for up-and-coming artists.
After a successful inaugural year in 2012, Treefort is back with more exciting live music.
One of our favorite groups, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings will be rocking the stage along with the psychedelic rotating line-up of Animal Collective.
Camper Van Beethoven is back with a long-awaited new album, and one-man band Youth Lagoon will transport you to hypnotic states.
There are also great free panels about crowd-source funding, publishing and licensing, and music video production.
Go for the music. Go for the career jump. Go for the beauty. Go Boise.
