Snowboxx

Snowboxx is Europe’s ultimate snow sports and music festival. Nestled in the Andorran villages of Arinsal and La Massana music stages feature a backdrop of the Pyrenees. The Panoramix Stage is 1,800 meters up a mountain and the evening finale includes 25 pro skiers descending the mountain in formation with fire torches.
DJ talent includes Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs who’ll mix house beats with tropical and Balearic influences. Jackmaster will spin pure, unadulterated party vibes with his elaborate eye-popping set. DJ Monki is a regular fixture behind the decks at clubs and festivals around Europe and her bass music sets will create magic at the Secret Stage.
After parties spread throughout Arinsal and La Massana including at Blow, a cocktail bar cum bowling alley and at the legendary Argentinian steak house Surf. And of course, let’s not forget the snow.

National Cherry Blossom Festival

Sunday, March 16th, 2014

Tamagawa U Drummers

This week embrace a new season!
The National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from the mayor of Tokyo to the city of Washington, D.C. in honor of the lasting friendship between the U.S. and Japan. It’s a wonderful way to herald in Spring and celebrate community and culture.
The signature event, National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade® has it all: blossom-inspired floats, balloons and marching bands from across the country.
Cultural programming includes Cantate Chamber Singers who perform Benjamin Britten’s Curlew River, based on the Japanese noh play Sumidagawa. Dance the night away at Cherry Blast, a multimedia experience at Blind Whino.
Go fly a kite on the grounds of the Washington Monument where you can compete against other kite flyers, make a kite or just hone your skills. Taiko drummers and dancers from Tamagawa University will shake up the Freer Gallery of Art with a spectacular performance.
Blooming beauty!
