The ZZK Club website puts it this way: if you’ve been looking for the hottest spot in Buenos Aires with the hottest new DJs and MCs, you´ve found it.
Grant Dull is the cofounder of Zizek Urban Beats Club, a series of parties where local and international DJs get together to play and experiment with Hip Hop, Dancehall, Cumbia, Reggaetón, and other sounds. Born and raised in Texas, Grant went to school in California and came to Argentina after being inspired by Astor Piazzolla’s music and Jorge Luis Borges’ writings.
In this interview, Grant talks about the beginnings of Zizek Club and its record label, the online guide to city culture he founded — What´s Up Buenos Aires — and the atmosphere they create at the parties. He also mentions the events and places Zizek DJs will be touring in July, including the Alternative Music Conference in New York City.
