    Philly Rocks!

Great festival, though it seems like it gets more mainstream each year. In looking at this year’s line up it also seems like there is less site specific happenings each year, which for me really made the Philly Fringe festival special. That said this is still one of my favorite festivals largely because it seems manageable yet remains funky.

Great interview, though I am somewhat biased.

[...] Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe offer an amazing buffet of live performance. Disco Descending, created by Karen Getz, sets the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice against a Saturday Night Fever backdrop. To experience Kate Watson-Wallace’s piece titled Car, you need to go to Parking Garage #40, get a ticket from the parking attendant, and get in a car with three other passengers. From the Fringe, Brian Sanders/JUNK perform Flushdance, an alternative take on the classic 80s film starring Jennifer Beals. Cap it all off at the Festival Bar, where you can mingle with fellow festival travelers. Fringe podcast on KadmusArts. Find all festivals in Philadelphia! [...]
