The art exhibit Everything Must Go! explores art and commerce through gift and barter economies. The brainchild of the reclusive couple Ephraim and Sadie Hatfield, the exhibit incorporates large quantities of small electronic art items that are given away free of charge.
In this podcast we talk with Marianne Petit and Matthew Belanger, founders of Greylock Arts (and the public interface with the Hatfields) about how this exhibit and a previous one explore art as a commodity both tangible and ephemeral. Everything Must Go! is a part of DownStreet Art, a public art project designed to revitalize downtown North Adams.
