After it had been canceled last year, the IV “
Buenos Aires Contemporary Dance Festival” is finally taking place from February 7 to 18. Organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Buenos Aires City Government, this dance event occurs every two years, and it now belongs to the long list of summer cultural activities offered in different theaters and cultural centers of the city of Buenos Aires.
This 2007 edition features contemporary dance pieces by Argentine companies, that were peformed between 2005 and 2006; premiers of new pieces that have been subsidized by the institution PRODANZA; and experimental pieces and performances designed for non conventional and open air spaces.
The festival also includes a photograph exhibit, by the artist Carlos Furman, entitled “Bs. As. Danza”, which compiles the best contemporary dance performance images of the last years, and a seminar of instantaneous dance composition, directed by Fabiana Capriotti.
