Music and revelry are on the New Year’s agenda at The Falls Music and Arts Festival in Lorne, Australia. What started as a modest celebration amongst friends transformed into a festival with over fifty performers, camping, an arts village and films.

This recipe for Classic Pavlova is a wonderful celebratory Aussie dessert. It is named after Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova who performed in Australia in the early 20th century to great acclaim. Meringue and fruit highlight the summer bounty of surrounding Victoria and the finished product is beautiful — a wonderful way to welcome 2013.
