Since 1982 the Imatra Big Band Festival is a jazz festival that features a wide-ranging celebration with a special emphasis on the music of large orchestras. Besides various types of jazz music and swing, the spectrum of festival events also includes a large measure of black rhythm music from blues to soul and funk as well as latin and world music and even rock. The festival includes several top-class performers from Finland, Europe and America.
