| Festival Description | This international folklore festival of the Midnight Sun is celebrated on both sides of the midsummer solstice deep in the heart of Lapland. The festival park stretches along the scenic banks of the Kemijoki River from the magnificent Jätkänkynttilä Bridge on the Ounasvaara road to Koskipuisto. The riverbank is filled with all manner of things traditional and contemporary, all colorfully seasoned with the culture of reindeer and river. The festival park provides a stage for both folk artists and professionals from Finland, the land of the Sámi and the wider world. The warm northern glow of the Jutajaiset is definitely an experience not to be missed. |
