| Festival Description | The music festival Glasperelenspiel (in English 'The Glass Bead Game') directed by Peeter Vähi was inspired by the novel by Hermann Hesse. It is a leading musical event in Estonian summer where music lovers can enjoy performers like Australian Chamber Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Chorus, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Gidon Kremer, Vadim Repin, Piotr Anderszewski, Paavo Järvi, Roy Goodman, Christoph Eschenbach, etc. The first festival was organized in July 1996 by the initiative of Pärnu City Government and Eesti Kontsert, the National Concert Institute. From its very beginning Peeter Vähi, a composer and producer was its artistic director. |
