| Festival Description | The name of the town where the festival takes place — Swakopmund was bestowed by the Germans. In addition to the name they also brought their culture and love of classical music. The Swakopmunder Musikwoche is organized by Christiane Berker who brings together 250 participants that include instructors, musicians, and lecturers. The educational portion of the festival is topped off with performances by the orchestra, choir, and big band. Participants include locals from Swakopmund, and internationals from South Africa, Germany, and the United States of all ages and ethnicities. |
