Programming highlights 2012:

• Learn how to cook
  
  • Renowned New Orleans chef Michelle Nugent will teach folks Cajun and Creole cuisine New Orleans-style (yes, there IS a difference).
• The music lineup includes

• Kids programming
  
  • Children can take workshops to learn Cajun fiddle, guitar and accordion at the Kids Camp session.
• Exhibition
  
  • A special exhibit saluting Mardi Gras culture and costuming by some of the very best costumer makers in New Orleans will be on display at the Ashfield Congregrational Church throughout the Winklepicker! weekend.
• Sunday Gospel Brunch
  
  • And wrap it all up at the Sunday Gospel Brunch at Elmer’s Store. There are weekend package and a la carte event prices as well to mix and match for the ideal weekend of your choice.

  • 2:00pm-5:00pm — Cooking Workshop with Michelle Nugent (Cajun Country Cuisine Party): Southwest Louisiana Charcuterie, Cajun Style Jambalaya, Duck Gumbo, Crawfish Etouffée, Gateau de Sirop (all menu subject to change)
  • Afternoon — Mardi Gras Arts & Culture Exhibit Reception upstairs at Elmer’s; exhibit on display through Sunday.
• Saturday, February 18
  
  • 10:00am - 2:30pm — Mardi Gras Kids Music Camp (for kids age 10-15)
  • 11:00am - 2:00pm — Cooking Workshop with Michelle Nugent (Creole Luncheon): Oysters Rockefeller, Seafood Gumbo, Pecan Fish Muniere, Bananas Foster
  • 3:00pm — Chris Smither Matinee Concert, Ashfield Town Hall (412 Main Street, Ashfield, MA 01330). Tickets $20 advance/$25 at the door (ga)
  • 7:00pm — Town Hall Dance Party: Buckwheat Zydeco with Planet Zydeco and the Mardi Gras Kids
  • 9:30pm — After-Party with The Primate Fiasco at Elmer’s

    Pack a lunch and your instrument to learn Cajun-style guitar, fiddle, or accordion. Students will play before Buckwheat Zydeco hits the stage that night.
