| Festival Description | Every two years (odd numbers) the Sea Festival takes place in the resort town of Nha Trang. The beautiful village is located in central Vietnam. The festival serves to introduce tourism and people to the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa. The cultural festival began in 2003 and features numerous cultural, art and outdoor sporting events that include a stunningly beautiful fireworks display, kite and lantern events and a carnival. Each festival edition a theme is chosen whereby the programming is arranged. Colorful parades are a part of the festivities, exhibitions of traditional arts as well as artistic performances, and fashion shows. The traditional Cau Ngu ceremony marks the opening of the summer fishing season. Participants include local, regional and international artists. All activities are free and open to the public. |
