| Festival Description | Dougie MacLean is one of Scotland’s finest songwriter-composers, internationally renowned for his song ‘Caledonia’, music for ‘Last of the Mohicans’ and inspired performances worldwide - from New York’s Carnegie Hall to London’s Festival Theatre and The Sydney Opera House. The festival shares MacLean’s inspiring music, celebrates the history and culture of his Perthshire home and showcases its beautiful scenery. The concerts, which are staged in a variety of wonderful venues, welcome high calibre musical guests from Scotland and abroad. Perthshire Amber takes place in venues across Perthshire, a very picturesque and enchanting region of Scotland, which is arguably at its most beautiful during the autumn months. From delightful village and town halls where visitors will feel the warmest of welcomes to the grandeur of Blair Castle and Castle Menzies (where the welcome will be just as warm!) to a tiny Iron Age Crannog, the stunning new Caledonia Hall at Edradour Distillery and ancient Dunkeld Cathedral. |
