| Festival Description | Taskopru is a town in the Kastamonu province that is known as the main producer of garlic in Turkey. In celebration of its proud yield the town hosts an international Garlic Festival every year that draws thousands of aficionados that include local and foreign people. The cultural festival features a program of activities that include folk dancing and music, artisan exhibitions, garlic cuisine and cooking contests, horse races, and more… A popular part of the program features a Beauty Contest of dancing girls. This Contest is broadcast on Direct TV to reach a wider audience. |

- The group is based at the Subtropical State University Kutaisi. Abkhazia has performed in numerous countries including Turkey, Georgia, Ukraine, Cyprus, Mexico and India.
