Festival Description

The Harlem Arts Festival features a multi-disciplinary arts festival festival with a range of programming that includes local musicians, dance, visual arts, theater, discussion forums, an open-mic night, activities for children and families, workshops with local companies, and much more!

The inaugural edition of the annual arts festival will begin June 2012. The Festival is free and open to the public — taking place at Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem. The festival is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to enrich the local residents of Harlem and the broader community of New York City with free art presentations during the spring and summer for people of all ages and interests.

Applications 2014:
  • The Artist Application for Harlem Arts Festival 2014 is Opens! We’re looking for artists of all disciplines who are inspired by the artistic legacy of Harlem. We’ve presented some very exciting groups and are looking forward to reviewing new applicants’ work. This year, we’ve lowered the artist application fee to $25. Accepted artists join the HAF family and receive a stipend for their performance, as well as marketing and PR support, connections and recommendations for other performance opportunities, and discounted rehearsal space when available. The application is due January 15, 2014. Late applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to a late application fee.
