| Festival Description | The first festival takes place in August 2011 to honor the comedic genius of the late John Belushi. The stand-up performances take place in Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. There will be an award presented on the last evening of the festival — called the “John Belushi Larger Than Life Award”. It will beccome an annual presentation to the comedian at the festival who best embodies the work of Belushi. The Boston Comedy Festival is responsible for this inaugural event with the intention to make it an annual event. Martha’s Vineyard is the home of Judy Belushi-Pisano a resident of Martha’s Vineyard and the widow of John Belushi who will be the recipient of the first award. |
