| Festival Description | Search for current role, the current situation of art in contemporary global society is the main idea of this biennial colloquium XXII. Festival. We talk about the threat of high culture as a whole in the post-industrial Europe. The organization of art in international units seems to be the only possible way to cross the narrow limits of regional and commercial interests - that threaten to completely absorb the message of the original art. Festival had cooperated during the last two decades with many leading personalities of international art scene - whose work significantly influenced the contemporary art world. This year of Festival will be almost the little retrospective – of course, historical reflection, the memory has been one of the fundamental features of European culture… The Festival is organized by the Artistic Initiative under the personal auspices of Mayor of Kroměříž Daniela Hebnarová, under the personal auspices of head of District Office in Zlín Stanislav Mišák. Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, under the auspices of the Czech Commission for UNESCO, Archbishopric Olomouc, and with attendance of Town Office Kroměříž, Regional Office in Zlin, Conservatory Evangelic Academy Olomouc, Palacký University Olomouc, Academy of Music in Prague, Museum of Art Olomouc, Union of Fine Artists Olomouc, The National Institute for the Protection and Conservation of Monuments and Sites Kroměříž, Priory and with co-operation of Kroměříž Region Museum, Gallery Artuš, Gallery Orlovna Kroměříž, Czech Radio, Slovak Radio, the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, Tv Noe, Radio Proglas, The Contemporary Music Centre Ireland, Irish Government, National Endowment USA, The Gaudeamus Foundation, Foundation OSA, Foundation of F.A. Urbánek, Society for Electroacoustic Music Prague, Society for Spiritual Music in Prague and with financial support by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Foundation of Czech Music Fund in Prague and District Office in Zlín. |

Festival Story:
The biennale Festival is organized as a Colloquy on “Spiritual Streams in Contemporary Arts“, which has already reached rather wide recognition in the Czech Republic. The goal of this event is to direct attention to a growing hunger for spiritual values in today’s art world and to classify this topic among international relations. “All music is sacred” claimed remarkable Romanian composer Liviu Danceanu during a festival Colloquy two years ago. Danceanu believed it would be possible to transfer meaning to all art as a fruit of the human spirit. Creative people throughout the world today, predominantly technologists would consider the danger of the art becoming non-existent. In the atmosphere of globalization each nation protects its valuable originality so that it will survive. It is necessary to emphasize the universal effort of all who take an active role in creating artistic projects that represents art of today and the future.
