| Festival Description | In 2007 KnockanStockan Festival was created by co-founders Graham Sharpe and Peter Keogh. The mission of the family-friendly festival has been from the get-go to showcase the immense number of talented and emerging artists from the local and regional communities. Acts and bands who have never had the opportunity to play for large audiences let alone show their chops are given equal billing with more established acts. The aim is simple — bring together aspiring musicians together with audiences who are supportive and looking for refreshing new artists. KnockanStockan is a community-driven event where a strong volunteer effort keeps all running smoothly, generous farmers who lend their land as a venue, artists take no pay for their performances, and local people lend their talents building stages and managing traffic all play a part in the success of the award-winning festival. Tickets are reasonably priced, designated camping for families and those who want to keep the party going after-hours are available to festival goers. |
