The festival of musical theater Opera is one of its kind presenting an array of the best Czech and Moravian opera productions. It has taken place every two years starting from the year 1993 in Prague and any professional opera theaters may participate. The festival serves to promote Czech operatic art generally and thereby expresses its unity and uniqueness. The festival provides an occasion for the Prague audience to acquaint themselves with prestigious opera productions from all over the country and since 1999 it equally represents the achievements of artistic schools.
