| Festival Description | Hilltop Live and the Dullstroom community are thrilled to present the first Dullstroom Winter Music Festival. The inaugural festival, takes place in June 2011 in the middle of winter. Dullstroom is a small village town in Mpumalanga fondly described as The Scottish Highlands of South Africa. It is known for its unique crystal clear Highveld dams and unconventional “Christmas in July” which is synonymous with the town. This town literally lights up in July with traditional Christmas decorations by the residents giving the town a real Christmas feel. The Dullstroom festival presents a perfect getaway adventure for the entire family. The festival buzz ensures that there is never a dull moment in Dullstroom during the two weekends of festivities. In Dullstroom there is no shortage of accommodation. The area has accommodation with over 2000 beds for those who wish to spend the weekends in the town. Dullstroom has enjoyed enormous growth in recent years with over 20 celebrated restaurants and pubs where you will enjoy splendid food, sun downers and the locally brewed coffee. The Chocolate shop and Cheese factory are also an attraction for the visitors. At Dullstroom one may enjoy activities, such as fly-fishing for the adventurous, marathons, mountain biking, bird watching, 4x4 trails, horse riding trails, clay pigeon shooting amongst many other enjoyable and exciting happenings. |

- Laurie Levine
The prolific songwriter with a jazzy, soulful voice Laurie Levine will wow the crowds by perfoming live on the 10th of June. On the 11th and 12th of June, the well-known musician Albert Meintjies of Scicoustic will be performing live. The famously known “inventors of the blues” in South Africa, the Blues Broers and Albert Frost, the “master guitarist” will perform on the 18th of June. These celebrated acts will be treating guests to the acoustic sounds of rhythm and blues, creating a setting of fun and relaxation. Local supporting acts will keep the audiences entertained with delightful tunes throughout the day.
