- Born in Galway, Ireland De Staic is an award-winning musician, actor, comedian and “yarn spinner.” Accomplished in a range of artistic styles he blends his talents into performances that include traditional music, theatre, comedy and storytelling, De Staic humors and entertains audiences wherever he goes. Known for his one man shows — “Around the World on 80 quid”, “The Year that I got Younger” , and “Summer I Did The Leaving” De Staic has been honored with Best Actor award at the Geelong Film Festival (Australia), Best Solo Show at New Zealand Fringe, Malcolm Hardee Award at Edinburgh Fringe in 2008, BEST IRISH SHORT DOCO at Galway Film Fleadh, Best Documentary at Open Channel’s Love Your Work, Three Weeks Editors Award at Edinburgh 2009, and more… For more information visit his web site and social networks at
