| Festival Description | The inaugural Savannah Stopover Festival took place in 2011. The idea of the festival came to mind after noticing that musicians making their way to the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas typically made a stopover in historic Savannah, Georgia. Taking advantage of the good fortune having the artists in the community and offering them a taste of southern hospitality, MusicFile’s CEO and founder Kayne Lanahan conceived of the festival. The four-day music, arts, film and technology festival atmosphere of a down home feel appeals to artists and festival goers alike. The Savannah Stopover showcases more than 50 bands and 60 acts in numerous local venues. |
