| Festival Description | The festival honors and pays tribute to the legendary Les Brown Sr. from the big band era. Born in March 1912 near Tower City in Reinerton, Brown played with notable individuals that include Tony Bennett, Bob Hope, Doris Day and Dean Martin to name a few. The aim of the festival is to keep alive the musical heritage of the region for audiences and more specifically students. The events take place a multiple venues where big bands from colleges and public schools, and professional musicians perform individually and in concerts where they join together. Festival participants recreate the sounds of the by-gone era and features trios, bands, choruses and orchestras. |
