| Festival Description | In 1978 Mamadou Konté organized the first Festival Africa Fête in Paris as a way to bring attention and to honor the Senegalese immigrants. The festival now takes place biannually in Senegal in December, and in France in June. The aim is to discover rising talents in the performance arts in both countries. Since 1986 the festival expanded to include the United States and is realized in a number of major cities there. |
