Varaždin Baroque Evenings, a festival of Baroque music, insists on its ambience and cultural foundations. The fundamental motive of the festival is the research and presentation of Baroque music heritage by modern interpretators based on new understanding as well as performing of the newly discovered works, both in Croatia and in Europe. This results in close connection with Musicology, like in all other areas of music performance, being the fundamental mover and not only a correcting factor or an additional element.
