Festival Description

The annual International Children and Youth Theater Festival in the city of Ordu is held in early June with the collaboration of the Ordu Municipality and TOBAV (Turkish Theatre Opera and Ballet Members Foundation). TOBAV with the purpose of spreading theater, opera and ballet culture, organizes festivals, workshops, and seminars by adopting the motto YES TO ART. One of the basic aims of their festivals, is to strengthen the knowledge and experimental cooperation among the young people who have different social and cultural point of views. Thus, they believe in improving the philosophy of art as a life style.

Ordu has opened its cultural centers and the stage of its local theater OBKT as well as its streets, parks, and marketplace to theatrical activities. It is a city full of people sensitive to theatre and art. They believe that the art of theater abolishes the international borders and creates positive interpersonal relationships. In this context, they would like to see various examples such as street performances and shows in alternative locations, which are as less verbal as they can be. The organisation welcomes proposals for plays.
