| Festival Description | Every two years the Amsterdamse Cello-Biënnale presents “a feast” of Dutch and international soloists, ensembles and orchestras with the predominating theme each edition featuring the international cello ensemble. The ensembles taking part come from Germany, USA, Belgium, Latvia, France, the Netherlands and China. The Biennale programming can be enjoyed throughout the day — from breakfast concerts, afternoon concerts, and of course evening concerts. During other times you can browse the stalls, enjoy fringe concerts for free and sit in on master classes in session. In addition to the concert performance there will also be the National Cello Competition, held concurrently with the master classes and presided over by an international jury judging young top talent from or studying in the Netherlands. A new addition to the Biennale program includes the Open Stage for music students and young professionals. Expect to see well established performers and fresh new talents during the nine eventful days. |
