International theatre festival of youth (MKFM) was founded in 1996 and has been taking place annually in Pula since. The festival program includes a summer school, which offers workshops in theater and dance performance. The results of these workshops are then presented to the public in open-air city locations. Beginning in 2008 MKFM was transformed to include two ‘sub-festivals’ — Pula forum and the Summer School of Dance.
