The International Music Festival is focused on contemporary music and provides an insight into the annual activity of contemporary composers in Croatia. Every year special attention is given to the renowned Croatian contemporary composers, as well as to the Croatian musical heritage (in 2003 the festival marked the 10th anniversary of death of eminent Croatian composer and conductor Slavko Zlatić). The festival presents the most prominent Croatian and foreign soloists and ensembles, also joined by the musicians of the Cantus Ensemble in various formations. The festival programme is combined with various events, such as the annual meetings of music and dance teachers, promotions, panel discussions, and music clubs.
