| Festival Description | Founded by Dr. Michele Pittaluga in 1968, the guitar festival in Alessandria was initiated as part of the celebration of Alessandria's 800th anniversary—entitled Citta di Alessandria. Since that time the festival became an annual event that also included repertoires with string quartets and orchestra. In 1997 the competition for guitar was created, entitled "Michele Pittaluga International Competition for Composition for the Classical Guitar". |
