Corpi Urbani/Urban Bodies is an International Festival of Contemporary Dance that takes place in the north of Italy in Genova. The performance venues vary within the urban spaces—streets, squares, shop windows, historical palaces and museums. ARTU (Arti per la Rinascita e la Trasformazione Urbana – Arts for Urban Regeneration) organizes the festival whose aim is the develop the urban environment through the arts and culture. The organization strives to encourage an interest and following of the art form by making it accessible to the general public within the communal spaces. It is anticipated that the community will learn to enjoy dance and look forward to the free events each year by having dance brought to them rather than the other way around!

Contemporary dance is one of discovery and spontaneity that will make people see their surroundings in a new way. Corpi Urbani has come to Genova at a significant time when recent changes in the town with restorations and new buildings have emerged on the landscape. Corpi Urbani contributes to the development, bringing people to the new places, buildings and historical palaces or museums.
