| Festival Description | Association Kaay Fecc and the Africulturban collaborate with the Arts centre Blaise Senghor, and together organize Urbanation Bboy. The competitive breakdance festival takes place in Dakar, Senegal. This festival offers an artistic framework for local artists and of creating exchanges among the guests to encourage dialogue between the cultures of the region. This first edition, takes place in 2008 as a means to promote Hip Hop dance in Africa and the reinforcement of Southern cultural co-operation among the participating African countries—Burkina Faso, Guinea (Conakry), Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Morocco, Tunisia, and Senegal. The winner of Urbanation Bboy will defend the colors of West Africa in Battle Of the Year/Allemagne (BOTY), championship of the world, which will take place on October 18, 2008 in Braunschweig. |
