| Festival Description | The festival, similar to the famous Tanglewood and Aspen music schools of the United States, is the first large-scale annual international professional music summer camp ever held in China or Southeast Asia. The Canton International Summer Music Academy China has featured Chantal Juillet, music director of the Saratoga International Chamber Music Festival in New York State, Claus Peter Flor, principal guest conductor of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and Gary Graffman, who Newsweek magazine called "one of the greatest living pianists." The festival runs for 30 to 35 days from every July to August. |

Events 2006:
- There will be two CISMA orchestras working under the guidance of conductors Charles Dutoit and Janos Fürst towards staging public performances during the course of the academic session.
- The study of chamber music, headed by celebrated violinist, Chantal Juillet, will act as a means of further developing musical sensitivity and cultivating musical conversations amongst the students.

Guangzhou New Baiyun International Airport (CAN) has been in operation since August 5, 2004. The new airport is located between Renhe Town of Baiyun District to the north and Xinhua Town of Huadu District to the east, 17 kilometers (10.6 miles) away from the old airport and 28 kilometers (17.4 miles) away from Haizhu Square, the center of Guangzhou City. Guangzhou Railway Station located on the Huanshi Xi Lu, northwest of Guangzhou, can be reached easily by public buses. One can book a ticket at the ticketing office (in the eastern part of the Guangzhou train station) .The ticket office is open from 5:30am to 10:30pm.
