| Festival Description | 2008 celebrated the inaugural edition of the first International Festival of Morin Khuur players in the city of Ulan Bator. The participants at the festival included—composers, teachers, and players. Russian, Mongolian, Japanese and Chinese Morin Khuur instrument makers will be taking part as well. The festival venue is the Central Cultural Palace in Ulan Bator where concerts, a fair, and a conference will round out the festival program. The festival is organized by the Mongolian State Philharmonic, the Morin khuur Ensemble, and the Cultural and Scientific Foundation for the Mongol Race. |
