| Festival Description | The Dawson City Music Festival is held annually on the second to last weekend in July. Since 1978 the festival has celebrated with aytime events that includes concerts and workshops at intimate venues throughout the community as well as a full slate of children’s and family entertainment, games, and crafts. When night comes, the tent becomes the biggest dance party north of 60, while local churches serve as beautiful sit-down concert venues. Over the years some of the country’s brightest up-and-coming acts have shared stages with more established musicians in what is truly one of the most anticipated cultural events in the Yukon. Artists like the Crash Test Dummies, Rheostatics, Jane Sibbery, and Bruce Cockburn have played alongside groups like the Mike Plalume bank, Veda Hille, and the Painting Daisies. |
