| Festival Description | International Almaty Jazz Holiday was formerly known as "Jazz from A to Z", and continues to take place in Almaty. The events take place at the Republic Schoolchildren Palace with jam sessions in the Cinema Bar club. The Almaty Youth Jazz Band will traditionally open the festival. Past festivals have had the honor of hosting such performers as internationally famous jazz performers such as Virginia Mayhew, Dennis Rollins, Arnie Lawrence, Francois Jeanneau, Philippe Renault, Roy Dackus, Thijs van Leer, Michael del Ferro, Laco Tayfa, Spree, Sizzle Ohtaka, Yasuhito Mori, and others. |
