| Festival Description | The Arab-African Festival of Folk Dances is a forum for cultural exchange and dialogue among national and international folk dance artists. Dance troupes from Arab countries and African countries take part in the festival—including those from Guinea, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Niger, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, and Mali. In addition to the dance program there will be traditional singers who will perform as well as modern rap and rock musicians. Various traditional Algerian and foreigner’s costumes will be worn by the participants. In addition, demonstrations of making musical instruments, a craft market will round out the cultural program. A conference will be held to discuss several topics on folk dance lead by experts in the field. |
