| Festival Description | Festival du Bois gathers an international line-up of artists to the city of Maillardville for the celebration of francophone culture. The organizers have created a rich program of music, dance, crafts, foods, heritage and culture. This year’s festival highlights the accordion as the instrument that sets off the French theme. The accordion artists are featured throughout the festival weekend—with performances that depict the versatility of the instrument. In addition, the festival features folk and world musicians. The festival is a family event that lends itself to all ages. The progam includes the Grand Chapiteau, the family-focused entertainment space in the Petit Chapiteau (Kids’ Tent), workshops take place at Tente des Ateliers. Festival-goers can enjoy a sampling of wonderful foods and exhibits. Saturday night at La Grande Veillée! (The Big Night Out!) adults can enjoy dancing. The venue last year was in Blue Mountain Park, but this year the events will take place at Mackin Park to celebrate its 19th edition. |
