| Festival Description | The Kerrville Wine & Music Festival features just that—great music and Texas wines. The annual event takes place for three days over Labor Day weekend. The organizers have combined a family-oriented event that offers camping, music, and the best wines Texas winemakers have to offer. In addition to afternoon and evening concerts, there are Saturday and Sunday wine seminars which pair food morsels with the vintners choice of wine. Kerrville Music Festivals (including Kerrville Folk Festival) take place at the Quiet Valley Ranch. Many styles of music are presented in the program including traditional folk, bluegrass, acoustic rock, blues, country, jazz, and Americana—the common thread is songwriting. The focus of the festivals is to promote up-and-coming musicians alongside stellar talent. Past festivals have featured Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson, Michelle Shocked, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Robert Earl Keen, Lucinda Williams, and Nancy Griffith played Kerrville early in their careers. |
