| Festival Description | National Folk Dance Festival “Lok Tarang” features a diverse program that includes more than 700 artists from 28 States. India’s rich cultural heritage will be presented through more than 40 folk dances styles. The festival is part of the Republic Day celebrations and is organised each year by the Ministry of Culture and the seven Zonal Cultural Centres whose desire is to showcase the colorful and rich Indian culture. The organizers aim to preserve and promote Indian folk dances. Entrance to the event is free for the public and takes place at Hamsadhwani Open Air Theatre in Pragati Maidan each day of the festival (except the inaugural function). |
