| Festival Description | The Lun Bawang, a Dayak tribe found in Central Borneo (East Malaysia), celebrate Irau Aco Lun Bawang. The festival is traditionally a celebration of the rice harvest; its cultural offerings showcase a variety of aspects of Lun Bawang culture like Ruran Ulung (a beauty pageant for lun Bawang “maidens and warriors”), a contest among teams of ngiup suling (a bamboo musical instrument band), a cultural parade, nihglty music and dance shows, and sporting events. |
