| Festival Description | The Crossroads Festival is a multidisciplinary program of visual and expressive theatre. At the intersection of dance and theater, this festival aims to show productions which merge these two disciplines into one unique body language, through the expressive power of expression and body movement. The international participants come together for an experience of shared and diverse artistic visions within a range of contemporary performances that offer something special to a broad public. Audiences who are looking for something rare and new in theatre — will discover Unique, Innovative, Exciting, and Colorful performances. The Crossroads festival is under new management, and with new international partners has a fresh outlook that aims to increase its reach and scope in the artistic community of the world. The new festival is located in Antwerp and is organized in cooperation with Provinciaal Centrum Arenberg, Wereldculturencentrum Zuiderpershuis and Cinema Zuid — and takes place at these locations. Crossroads will celebrate its inaugural edition in 2011. |

The 2012 edition:
- At the second edition from the ICF we offer you not 4 but 7 full days of pure exciting visual theater from puppetry to dance, to hilarious comedy to heart-rending tragedy. No less that 18 companies representing 12 countries take you this year to their visual world telling their stories in a different way. Using all different styles they bring you one by one pearls of shows from this theatre discipline. Most of them unknown to the audience in Belgium, nevertheless touring within the international theatre circuit, and otherwise would have never been seen in our country. The festival brings you this year, beside a new co-production, again mostly Belgian and two international premières. Since our pilot edition last year focussed on international character of our festival, this year we bring a deliberately chosen Belgium-Dutch programme. ACT2 – with this various and exciting progamme is an absolute must. You want to be sure about your seat, book your ticket today, because some theatres are limited in seats.

e-MIX Promotional Network:
- The european Mime Index (e-MIX) is a new international festival network for mime and visual theatre — with the main objective to expand the general interest for the genre to a wider audience. Festivals, theaters, cultural centers and others are encouraged to program modern visual theatre. The e-MIX starts an international dialog between the creators of this visual theatre and unites them within a European, and later in an international network. An artistic (selection) committee with members of all the official partners of e-MIX have been installed to evaluate projects for the selection of grants. Companies may request an application and registration form for e-MIX that may be downloaded from the website at
