Folklore is a science—where one finds shared values through folklore. The International Festival of Folklore “the Colors of the World” at Castle-Gombert has received more than 110 countries and almost as many different groups. The organizers endeavour to present a dance and music program of quality and diversity. The festival provides the opportunity for international groups to travel to Marseille to present their inherited traditions and culture. Nearly 300 artists will take part in the festivities this year. For 2008 the festival will receive nine countries—Chile, Cuba, Burkina Faso, South Korea, setia North-Alania (Russia), Panama, China, Israel, and Bulgaria
