Funk Fest began in 1994 with the aim of presenting an “old school music festival” in Mobile, Alabama.
The annual music festival has since expanded to include five cities with the aim of topping 15 by 2012. The program includes a stellar line-up of Old School R&B, Funk, Old School Hip-Hop, Blues, Jazz and Comedy. Funk Fest celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Old School Music provides the African – American community access to a means of expression that promotes social consciousness, positive entertainment and personal fulfillment. The festival is organized by Variety Entertainment which represents quality, creativity, and uniqueness.
