| Festival Description | The Kalidas festival is held in November each year at Ramtek, Nagpur to honor the renowned Sanskrit poet and dramatist Kalidas who came from this region. Kalidas' writings were inspired by the beauty of the area that is featured predominantly in his literary work—whose works include the historical drama, “Shakuntalam”, and the epic poem, “Meghdoot”. The festival program includes music, dance and drama performances that celebrate the heritage of the region. |
