| Festival Description | Shalom Shmuelov, the artistic director of the Tzavta Theatre founded the Short Theatre Festival in 1997. The festival produces ten original short plays (up to 30 minutes length) each year—to date, 90 plays have been produced. In the first year, nine plays were performed in two auditoriums over three days, and today the festival spans four days in three auditoriums. The goal of the festival is to take action and to develop the original short play, and to enable young and veteran playwrights to try and create without commercial considerations. |
