Bonok-Bonok Maradjao Karadjao Festival is a colorful festival that showcases the Surigaonon’s Tribal Culture through street dancing. The main feature is the Bonok-Bonok, an ethnic Mamanua Dance performed by the natives during “Kahimonan” (Fiesta) workshop and wedding ceremonies. The day-long Festival honors the patron saint of Surigao City, San Nicolas de Tolentino, with examples of traditional dance and ritual asking deities for good health and harvest. Other activities are street dancing particiapted in by different private and government contingents using creative costumes, huge floats and the chanting of “Viva Señor San Nicolas! Viva Maradjao-Karadjao”.
