| Festival Description | The festival of Ati-Atihan is one of the largest in the Philippines, celebrating the culture of the Atis. These were Black aborigines who first populated the Aklan province, and historically welcomed religious refugees from Borneo. The event, which took place in 1212, and is still commemorated today with music and dancing. |
